UN CBD COP17

Role: Project Lead
Partners: Armenian University Coalition for Biodiversity (AUCB), Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN)

Leading the operational strategy to recruit, train and deploy a corps of 350 university students as highly visible policy actors ahead of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in Yerevan. Unlike passive youth observer models, this programme positions ambassadors as active producers of data, policy input and delegate support.

Institutional architecture. Architected a rigorous hybrid 1.5-month Training Academy spanning four phases — from high-level CBD fundamentals and asynchronous online modules to field-skills development and national ministry collaboration.
Deployment strategy. Directing the specialization and deployment of the cohort across citizen science, delegate liaison roles and community engagement, ultimately transitioning them into a permanent alumni network supporting Armenia's two-year COP presidency.

Directing a comprehensive, cross-sectoral information and mobilization campaign designed to integrate over 10 distinct economic and social sectors across Armenia into the biodiversity and COP17 agenda — ensuring messaging alignment between international diplomatic goals and localized industry practice.

Role: Project Director

Revolutionized environmental education by integrating augmented and virtual reality with real-time monitoring tools, helping students visualize abstract climate data.

Methodological shift. Transitioned traditional curricula into a rigorous Project-Based Learning methodology, moving institutional focus from passive knowledge acquisition to active, solution-oriented problem-solving.

Climapolis

Role: Founder & Project Director
Partners: UNICEF, GenU

Founded and directed a multidisciplinary startup initiative closing the climate literacy gap in Armenia through gamification — built from concept to a globally recognized provider of environmental educational resources.

Product development. Co-authored and launched the Climapolis board game and a localized Youth-Friendly Manual on Climate Change based on IPCC data.
Operational scale. Managed the logistics and stakeholder relations to deploy intensive climate literacy programmes across multiple regions.

YEP! Youth for Extended Producer Responsibility identity

YEP! Youth for EPR Policy

Partners: AUA Acopian Center for the Environment

Directed the end-to-end execution of a specialized initiative promoting Extended Producer Responsibility awareness and circular economy frameworks in Armenia.

Programme execution. Managed all phases, from participant recruitment pipelines to the digitization and deployment of final campaign materials.
Community mobilization. Trained 15 youth as Game Ambassadors, overseeing 15 public events reaching an estimated 1,000 indirect beneficiaries.

Regional micro-grant & adaptation programme

Empowered youth across 8 Armenian regions — Syunik, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat, Aragatsotn, Armavir, Kotayk and Yerevan — to lead grassroots climate resilience initiatives.

Grant management. Launched and oversaw a micro-grant scheme providing seed funding and technical mentorship for localized adaptation projects.
Strategic impact. Guided proposal development and successful implementation of 5 youth-led grassroots projects through Climate Camps in Vayk and Yerevan.

Water Quality & Citizen Science

Role: Field Director & Scientific Lead

Directed a hands-on capacity-building operation on water security and citizen science, bridging theoretical academia with active ecological field monitoring.

Laboratory management. Oversaw mobile monitoring labs, ensuring 35 participants mastered testing kits, sensors and rigorous data recording protocols.
Field leadership. Led multiple expeditions collecting and analysing water samples across diverse Armenian ecosystems, contributing to national conservation databases.

Engineered a Training of Trainers programme to modernize national environmental pedagogy, equipping formal and non-formal educators with Project-Based and Problem-Based Learning frameworks.

Logistical and strategic coordination for the Regional Project of the School of Local Democracy.

Legislative impact. Managed the workflow and inter-team collaboration behind four packages of legislative amendments submitted to the Armenian National Assembly and the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
